The NJ Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund (NJLHSF) is dedicated to protecting and improving the well-being of LIUNA members, their families, and signatory contractors. Through proactive initiatives in workplace safety, health promotion, and industry research, NJLHSF ensures that laborers can work in environments that prioritize their safety while also supporting overall health and wellness for NJ Laborers.

Our Mission

  • Enhance workplace safety by reducing hazards, preventing injuries, and advocating for stronger job site protections.
  • Promote health and wellness through educational programs, resources, and initiatives that support physical and mental well-being.
  • Support NJ Laborers and signatory contractors with best practices that improve productivity while keeping workers safe.

Workplace Safety & Training

  • Development of industry-leading safety standards and best practices.
  • Training materials and guidance on fall protection, hazardous material handling, and other key safety concerns.
  • Site assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Health & Wellness Programs

  • Information and resources to help laborers manage chronic conditions, improve fitness, and access preventive healthcare.
  • Support for mental health, including stress management and substance use prevention.
  • Nutrition and wellness guides tailored to the unique demands of construction work.

Advocacy & Research

  • Partnering with industry leaders and policymakers to strengthen occupational safety regulations.
  • Conducting research on emerging workplace hazards and developing solutions to keep laborers protected.
  • Promoting health and safety standards that benefit both NJ Laborers and contractors.
